The Three R’s: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
We didn’t start with a plan other than we wanted something different. It started years ago, in a far off land known as Iowa, when my grandmother sent me a $20 check as a Christmas present. What to do with the gift was quickly decided upon entering an antique store. Immediately in front of me was a 10 gallon ceramic crock that probably had a previous life as a vessel for home-made sauerkraut. The price was an unbeatable $20. Game over.
Since then, we have taken to repurposing a toaster, antique pressure cooker, wooden wine boxes and most recently, a tea kettle. I’m a little curious as to what the next “reused” container is going to be.
How about you? Have you reused anything out of the norm?
